Branding yourself: For better or worse?

March 24th, 2009

Many important factors go into the creation of corporate identity. What colors are right for us, Fonts? There are many other questions that arise when one is working with logo designs. One question that tends to be overlooked is whether or not your design will be relevant in 5 or even 10 years. More importantly, once a company has established itself with a specific look, feel and brand, it becomes more and more difficult as time goes by to change it. Some companies have enjoyed success without ever having to change their brand image. Kentucky Fried Chicken has used Colonel Sanders in their logo ever since the company was founded. Aside from some updates on their marketing front; Nike would be another good example of a timeless brand-image. Pepsi took a risk in the mid 90s by completely changing their image and logo but did so with alarming success. However, it could have resulted in commercial suicide. If you'll remember, in the 1980's Coca-Cola changed their brand image to Coke. Pepsi then took over top seat in the market shortly thereafter. Some questions to ask yourself if you are thinking about redesigning your logo:

Web Site Navigation and Design

November 23rd, 2008

It seems that one of the hardest things to get right in web design is creating proper layout and navigation. Sometimes a web site will be very rich in content, except that traffic will suffer due to poor navigational structure. In other words, navigation has become one of the key ingredients in developing sustainable, long-term traffic to your site. Your site tree: Often before you even get into the graphical aspects of your site, it is useful to think about the content that you will have for your site and brainstorm possible navigational schemes, otherwise known as site trees. These trees describe the way in which your site branches out into articles, products and services, and any other additional sections you may have. You would be surprised how different tree layouts can be created, but not all are created equal. Read the rest of this entry »

Improved website section

September 29th, 2008

LogoBee.com has a wide spread reputation as one of the top logo design businesses around; but they also offer web solutions. They have improved their website design information section. This feature on the LogoBee website has been around for years but it has just recently received a technical makeover. Vast improvements have been made so that internet surfers can find out all of the information that they desire to get a solid idea about how web design works at LogoBee, Inc.
To begin the web design odyssey there is a group of past website samples that were created by LogoBee in the past. Displaying past design work is a good way to introduce potential clients to the design quality being offered. The next step leads to some general pricing guidelines which can provide businessmen with a fair idea about how much their dream site will end up costing them in the end. Of course, all websites are different so it is always necessary to call in to speak with one of the professional about getting an accurate price quote.
Our web solutions coordinator, Tim, is always happy to help out individual interested in having a website created for them. He states that, “Working on the cutting edge of web solutions technology is fascinating. It is always satisfying to have the ability to offer people effective solutions at a minimum cost.” Tim’s enthusiasm for his work transfers in to the quality of support that he provides; past client Wesley Geys had this to say about Tim:
LogoBee’s professionalism is top notch. Communication with Tim was prompt and reliable. The design process was fantastic. It went really smooth and all the main items were discussed and understood before they went to design. I would absolutely recommend LogoBee to anyone needing a logo design or website.
If interested browsers are not ready to phone in for an actual consultation they can always read over the ‘Process’ section that is available. This seven step overview will provide a general knowledge regarding the process that website design follows. So, regardless of your level of interest in getting your ideal website created for you; the LogoBee website is a phenomenal place to stop by.

WVCS hosts 24th Annual Picnic in the Park Fund Raiser

July 6th, 2008

Chance to show new logo design September the 6th will see the 24th annual Picnic in the Park hosted by West Valley Community Services, Inc. (WVCS) at the Cupertino Civic Center Plaza. This is a fundraising event to help support WCVS so that it may continue offering valuable non-profit services. This event will take a considerable amount of preparation, especially since they will be marketing their new logo design donated to them by LogoBee just prior to this event. However, WVCS does not shy away from hard work. WVCS is a non-profit organization; that is why they are required to host fundraising drives and events. They offer valuable services to the Santa Clara County area such as: food, shelter, clothes, affordable housing and financial assistance. In order for a fundraising event to be successful the general public must get involved. This requires a certain degree of public recognition for the non-profit group. This is why WVCS applied to the Annual LogoBee Logo Design Makeover Contest last December. Having a brand that is easy to remember is helpful when hosting events like the Picnic in the Park. The Picnic in the Park will involve a silent and live auction; and a BBQ sponsored by the generous people at the Outback Steakhouse. The event should be fun for all participants who attend.  So if you are in the area please drop by and help contribute to a worthwhile cause. Keep your eyes open for event posters with the new “Health – Home – Heart” logo design for more details about this event.

Heart Warming Feature on CNN Money

March 13th, 2008

The article is a remarkable story about a young man with epilepsy who took a hobby of his and created a successful business called Anthony’s Beehive.  Montreal based graphic design company LogoBee, Inc was very proud to learn about their client’s recent feature in FORTUNE Small Business on CNN Money.    Anthony’s Beehive was a pleasure to work with on their logo design and website projects; and their journey is a touching story for all readers.
LogoBee was moved by the story of Anthony’s Beehive; the story hit close to home since the chief LogoBee coordinator working on their logo design and web design projects, Tim Liboiron, also has epilepsy.  Tim feels strongly that Anthony’s odyssey is a tale that needs to be spread.  Tim worked on this project vigorously to see Anthony receive the logo design and website that best portrayed Anthony’s Beehive.
The feature basically covers Anthony’s story starting from his birth and ending at running his successful business today.  Born with epilepsy, Anthony’s concerned parents Tony and Terri were worried about his future.  Tony returned to school so that he could get a teaching job in order to hire additional care for his son.  While in grade three Anthony asked his parents to add bees to the farm that they ran on the side.  His interest in bees and their honey led to selling honey to the local shops.  One day his parents noticed an entrepreneur course offered at the local high school.  The benefits of this course plus Anthony’s incredible people skills helped take his hobby and expand it into a successful business.  Anthony’s interest in bees and their unique produce was the reason for his creation of multi flavored lip balms which included the ingredients honey and beeswax.  This passion has kept Anthony experimenting with new lip balm flavors and has established Anthony’s Beehive with its twenty flavors of lip balm, as a fascinating business.
Please go to the CNN Money website to read the full feature on this remarkable business and the wonderful young man who lends it his name.  LogoBee urges all entrepreneurs to read this story for the inspiration required to make their dreams come true.  The article can be found at: http://money.cnn.com/2008/03/04/smbusiness/buzz_honey.fsb/index.htm

LogoBee creates logo design for Vienna Art Gallery

December 13th, 2007

The FPKK Przeczek & Seredynski KG art gallery in Vienna has just recently received a logo design created by LogoBee.  When one thinks about Vienna images of a rich cultural heritage, classical music and beautiful art usually come to mind.  That is why Tomasz Seredynski decided to take his passion for art there and establish an art gallery.  The gallery deals mostly in modern and contemporary art.  When he decided to get an artistic logo design for his gallery he turned to LogoBee for help.
The logo design for the FPKK Przeczek & Seredynski KG art gallery is very strong and concrete; but it is also simple and easy to remember.  These were reasons why Mr. Seredynski wanted this particular design.  He was happy with the colours used which are platinum/gold and black since these are associated with luxury.  Of course the logo design also contains hints of modern and abstract artistic styles since these are the art forms that the gallery deals in primarily.
Art is a passion and it can be one that takes up a lot of time.  For those who are serious about art it is usually something that will be prominent in their lives.  Mr. Seredynski spends most of his time around art.  He plans on taking part in the Vienna Art Fair during April of next year among other artistic events.  He would also like to host an exhibit for the artist Jan Niksinski, a Polish abstractionist.
LogoBee practices graphic art, which is a different medium than the type Mr. Seredynski deals with, but they keep themselves very busy as well.  The LogoBee team works with many clients for as long as it takes to create the perfect logo design to represent their business.  Mr. Seredynski mentioned how happy he was with his final logo design, but that it would not have turned out as good without the help of the LogoBee employees.  Speaking to customers and listening to their opinions is part of the reason why LogoBee can make so many artistic logo designs that are tailor made for various businesses.
